As always, we have three awesome talks prepared for you all!

Speaker 1: Uncle Wally Ito
Limu, An Indicator of Ahupua’a Health and Resilience

Wally Ito, self proclaimed limu nerd, at the age of 60, earned a BS Marine Biology degree from Hawaii Pacific University. He has been walking the shorelines of One’ula and Awawamalu for many years, listening to and learning from limu. Come and hear about some of those lessons learned.

Speaker 2: Bri Ornelas
She knew, they knew, but did you know about limu?
Why limu is essential in the ocean, on our plates, and to Hawaiian culture. Just your friendly neighborhood limu lady. When Bri is not in the tidepools or behind a computer, she is making lei. Currently surviving not thriving her way through the last of her Masters in Botany.

Speaker 3:  Malia Heimuli
Ka Uluwehi O Ke Kai, a celebration of Limu!
Hear how we claimed 2022 as the Year of the Limu in Hawaiʻi and what does the song Ka Uluwehi O Ke Kai teach us about limu and life? Malia is the Limu Hui Coordinator with Kuaʻāina Ulu ʻAuamo (KUA) who is a lover of poke bowls, sketchbooks, driving down backroads, and kanikapila sessions.

Be there and be square!
