AI 101 with AAUW

| FreeAI 101: What is it? Who’s using it? How can I use it?
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is everywhere, but what is it? How is AI being used? Is it dangerous? Is it wonderful? We’ll talk about the current state of AI, opportunities and challenges, and how we can explore AI today. He’ll also discuss education – what knowledge and skills are needed for the future workforce of AI. Although the lecture starts at 10, you are invited to come at 9:30 for networking and refreshments (bring your own water bottle).
Dave (Kawika) Morse grew up in Kailua and left for a stint as medic, nurse and instructor in the Army. His interest in technology led to returning to UH Manoa to study computer science. Answering the siren call of cyber security, Dave spent the last decade “solving problems for a safer world” as a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer. He has bachelors in both philosophy and computer science, an MBA in information systems, and received a fellowship in cyber security from the NSF.
