The Civil Beat Book Club is open to the public and members can join at any time.

Civil Beat’s education reporter, Suevon Lee, will host a virtual discussion on “When You Trap A Tiger,” a children’s literature book written by Honolulu-born author Tae Keller.

Add this book to your children’s Summer Reading list and invite them to participate in the discussion. Though geared toward younger readers, this tale will captivate both grown-ups and adolescents alike.

“When You Trap A Tiger” is the winner of the 2021 Newbery Medal and Asian/Pacific American Award for Children’s Literature.

An Author Talk with Tae Keller will be held later in the year.
