Civil Beat is tracking legislative efforts to address government accountability and corruption, and restore public trust in our state.

This year we are focusing on ethics and anti-corruption efforts in our special commentary series, “Let The Sunshine In.” We’ve even created a Sunshine Tracker for about 200 bills aimed at holding state officials and lobbyists more accountable to the public.

We invite you to join Civil Beat for an in-person discussion on Wednesday, March 8 from 10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the Hawaii State Capitol Auditorium.

Civil Beat Politics and Opinion Editor Chad Blair will be joined by Representative David Tarnas, Senator Karl Rhoads, Robert Harris, the Executive Director of the Hawaii State Ethics Commission, and Kristin Izumi-Nitao, the Executive Director of the Campaign Spending Commission. The panel discuss the progress of the bills introduced this year in efforts to increase government transparency.

Food and drink are not allowed in the auditorium.
