In a brief special session, the Hawaii State Legislature overrode six bills that Gov. David Ige had vetoed and amended three others. The governor has until July 22 to sign the amended bills or they won’t become law.
Among the bills that were overrode was one that would yank dedicated funding for the state’s tourism marketing agency and change the formula for how counties get tourism tax dollars.
Join Politics and Opinion Editor Chad Blair and reporters Kevin Dayton and Blaze Lovell for a conversation about the special override session.
