Code for Hawaii, a branch of Code for America, meets the first 3 Wednesdays of every month at 6pm-8pm. It’s a volunteer group of developers gathered to use their skillsets to bring civic projects to life that can help the community. People of all skill levels and disciplines (coders and non-coders) are welcome to join us. Just show up and we’ll brief you on our current project. Let us know what you would like to work on and we’ll let you know how you can help contribute to the project. It’s a great opportunity to learn and meet other developers in the community.

Currently, all efforts in Code for Hawaii are based around a project for the ACLU called “Holoholo.” Holoholo is a mobile website we are developing with the ACLU that will inform people of their rights and restrictions as they move around the island of Oahu.

The current project is the MVP (minimal viable product) that we are developing for testing the concept in the field.
