Ho cuz! Check out Talk Story with Lee Tonouchi, da “Pidgin Jedi,” 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Feb. 24 at da James & Abigail Campbell Library on da second floor exhibit space.

Also known as da “Pidgin Guerrilla,” Tonouchi had several plays staged at Kumu Kahua Theatre, including “Gone Feeshing,” “Living Pidgin,” “Da Kine Space,” “Echoes of Dat Red Guitar,” and “UchinaAloha.”

Honolulu Theatre for Youth did his youth play, “Three Year Swim Club.” An’den da East West Players did da adult version, which wuz one Los Angeles Times Critic’s Choice Selection.

His Pidgin poetry collection “Significant Moments in da Life of Oriental Faddah and Son” won da Association for Asian American Studies Book Award. His oddah Pidgin books include “Da Word,” “Living Pidgin,” “Da Kine Dictionary,” “Buss Laugh,” and da children’s picture book “Okinawan Princess: Da Legend of Hajichi Tattoos.”

An’den he’s also one special contributor to da Honolulu Star-Advertiser’s Da Kine 5 Tings We Love and one food blogger for frolichawaii.com. Follow him on IG @pidginguerrilla.
