Civil Beat Talk Story: What’s happening on the Westside?
March 19, 2021 @ 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm HST
This year, Civil Beat is putting a special emphasis on coverage of West Oahu. We want to make sure our work is as much for communities as it is about communities. That means spending more time finding out what news coverage people want and need.
Do you live, work or are from West Oahu? Join Civil Beat for a conversation about the issues that matter most in your community.
This event will be a Zoom Meeting that asks for your participation in breakout groups. We will encourage attendees to turn on their cameras and contribute to the conversation. This event will not be recorded.
808 Urban will be live-sketching a drawing inspired by the words of the conversation and the art will be shared after the event as a coloring page. 808 Urban is a collective of organizers, educators and artists committed to keeping native stories alive through arts programming and events rooted in aloha ʻaīna and community empowerment. 808 Urbanʻs ʻohana spands all across pae ʻaīna and the world from the leeward coast of ʻOahu island to Daisen, Japan.
Unable to attend the event but have an issue or concern about West Oahu that you’d like to share with us? Tell us about it here!
By registering for this event, you’ll receive a subscription to Civil Beat’s free e-newsletter, the Morning Beat. And don’t worry, we hate spam too! You can unsubscribe any time by clicking the link at the bottom of each email.
