Women in Tech: An Interview with Takaho Iwasaki
April 21, 2021 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm HST
The next WIT interview will feature Takaho Iwasaki, Founder and CEO of Hawaii-based MajiConnection.
Brought to you by the Hawaii Technology Development Corporation (HTDC), TRUE Initiative and Entrepreneurs Sandbox, the monthly Women in Tech series features female technologists who share their experiences working in the technology industry in technical and tech-adjacent roles. If you are looking to gain insights into different roles or thinking about transitioning into the technology sector, join us for this live, complimentary session over Zoom. Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions.
In this WIT session, we will be speaking to Takaho Iwasaki, Founder and CEO of Hawaii-based MajiConnection. A native of Japan, Takaho identified gaps that hindered cross-border business and technology exchange opportunities between Japan and the U.S., specifically Hawaii. So upon completion of her MBA at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, she started her own company, MajiConnection to help SMEs and startups in Japan and Hawaii connect to explore innovation-driven, tech-based projects. Before establishing her career in the U.S, she built her sales chops at Fuji Television in Tokyo and her family business in Kagoshima, Japan. Takaho is also the brains behind “Island Innovation Demo Day”, the first of its kind in Hawaii which showcases Japanese and Hawaii startups bringing about innovative solutions to solve “island problems”.
Please register by Tuesday, April 20th at 5pm. After registration closes, we will send a Zoom link to all registered participants. If you are unable to register, please contact Shane at info@sandboxhawaii.org to be added to the waitlist.
