UH Startup Accelerator Information Session

Three accelerators affiliated with the University of Hawai‘i are coming together to hold combined, virtual information sessions from 12 to 1:30 p.m. on April 28 and May 27. This is an opportunity to learn about each of the three programs, meet alumni, and ask questions of the organizers.
HATCH is the world’s first business accelerator and venture fund seeking to find, develop and scale disruptive aquaculture startups. HATCH believes in a sustainable aquaculture industry capable of meeting global demand. They bridge the gap between innovative ideas and commercialization by helping their portfolio firms become investment and market ready.
The 15-week accelerator program kicks off August 17th in Kona, Hawai‘i with $130K funding for each startup and moves onto its HATCH offices in Norway and Singapore. Visit Hatch.blue for more information.
THE PURPLE PRIZE is an idea-stage startup incubator that empowers the people of Hawaiʻi to build impactful technology startups that are rooted in Hawaiian values and optimize for community abundance and environmental sustainability.
The incubator runs for six-months and is consciously designed to take technology-driven projects that are rooted in place, led by an excellent team, and posed to create a positive impact from idea to validation stage. Visit purpleprize.com for more information.
THE (K)NEW FUTURES program aims to help excellent University of Hawaiʻi students start their entrepreneurial journey by creating ideas for innovative, community-driven technology solutions informed by ancestral practices. The program runs Fall 2020 to Spring 2021 around the Makahiki season and concludes with a Demo Day where the team and individual participants exhibiting the greatest potential will have the opportunity of participating in the 2021 Purple Prize. THE UH VENTURES ACCELERATOR powered by the Pacific Asian Center for Entrepreneurship, is designed for early-stage, University of Hawai‘i-affiliated ventures. The 12+ week program provides tailored mentorship, intensive startup education, and seed funding up to $75K.
